Emotional Intelligence Workshop – using Meditation and Pranayama as ‘Therapy’

Workshop 1 – Finding Your Monkey…

“Do you even know who runs your life? If you think you’re in full control, THINK AGAIN!”

Do you do ‘self-sabotage? Lash out in anger? Overreact then regret? Suffer from ‘inertia’? Are you tied up by addictions? Well, most of the time we are not aware how much our emotions influence, even’ dominate our behaviour. All too often by the time we realise we made a rushed and bad decision, it is too late, the damage is done. Is there perhaps a way to overcome this? There is something that can make a big difference – training ourselves in the field of Emotional Intelligence.

At this workshop we will explore our ‘internal dimensions’ – the conscious mind, the subconscious, the ’emotional self’ (our ‘feelings) and see how they contribute to and influence everything we do. This will be serious work, but conducted in a light-hearted, humorous, even entertaining way. I will first set the stage with an introductory talk followed by discussions. Once the ground is covered, we will try out some meditation techniques and some breath control (Pranayama) exercises to see how we can train ourselves to better manage our emotions and thoughts, to tame our wild ‘inner Monkey’.
