An empowered, dynamic form with more effective alignment and great depth-building techniques! This Intensive Ashtanga Yoga Course has much to offer. Apart from the dynamic yogasana system (posture and movement), we will explore pranayama (breath control) and CIS (constructive introspection, meditation)

Experience being ‘immersed’ in the practice of this powerful style for a few days – it will send you off to a flying start afterwards, with a deeper understanding of yoga all round, and with skills to deepen and personalise your practice to move toward your full potential.emnewteach2-bw

This course is for those already practicing yoga, preferably with three months experience or more. It is also highly recommended to teachers and those with aspirations to teach, as the detailed technique work will help to improve teaching and adjusting skills. Please give us a ring before you book, to make sure that the course is suitable for you.

Course Content and Structure

During the course we will work through the numerous major posture groups step by step, using our unique methodology. On different days different key result areas will receive emphasis, such as hamstring work, hip opening, back bending, inversions, connective movements (vinyasa), etc. We will explore these in terms of dynamics, energy and alignment, spending extra time to cover areas of difficulties.

We will also cover some of the theory behind the practical, and look into how the mind, body and heart make their contribution to an integrated human being through a yoga practice. The level and content of the course will be adjusted to the needs and abilities of the group.

The five days will consist of two sessions each, with a break between them as follows:

11.00 am -1.00 pm – ‘Technique Session’, learning the ‘how to’ of the style in detail, and covering key areas of the theory behind the practice.
1.00 pm – 2.00 pm – Lunch break – please bring light snacks, fruit, salad and drinks/refreshments.
2.00 pm -4.00 pm – a full ‘Flowing Practice Session’, with a different main subject each day.

Course Cost:

Full Course: £130 per person, half payable in advance, other half on the first day of the course. Confirmation of your booking will be sent to you on request, after receipt of payment and acceptance onto the course.
One day: £30
Single session: £15

Places are limited, and will be allocated on ‘first-come-first-served’ basis, with full course bookings getting priority.
