Training for Beginners

Access to Training for Beginners

Training for beginners can start in a variety of ways. We’re all different, with a wide range of circumstances and commitments that may limit what we can fit into our days, but making time for yoga will pay good dividends. It is not a cost or expense, but a good, sound investment. It has the potential to improve physical, mental and emotional health, it can improve the quality of your life all round.

The best way to start will depend on what you want to do and achieve. New starters usually book an initial assessment or a suitable workshop. It is best to call us first and discuss your needs and requirements.

emteach2-bwIf after the assessment or first workshop you decide to learn and practice regularly, you will be directed to a suitable level programme/course, where you can progress according to your own abilities and aspirations.

To make the physical training accessible for beginners, the Dynamic Primer programme has been created. In our framework it is the ‘K1’ level of practice.

Usually people attend the K1 level first, for a few weeks or months, to get familiar with the practice. Here you learn the ‘technology’ of the dynamic forms, start to develop strength, stamina and flexibility. You will also improve balance and the ability to focus, to concentrate. There is no pressure to move on to the next level quickly, it is more important to put down solid foundations and build a strong, beneficial practice at the pace that suits you.

If you want the most efficient way to train, then you should start with a one to one Assessment with your Mentor, to examine your needs, abilities and aspirations. You will then be assisted in creating an Outline Training Plan, detailing what training you will do, when and how. Your Mentor will guide and support you throughout your Programme, supply Training Charts and other training aids and information. Your Plan will be monitored and adjusted as you progress and your needs and circumstances change. The Plan will usually contain some scheduled workshops and training courses, but mainly focuses on helping you to train on your own at home. This approach to training is the most effective way to make fast progress.
