A few words on Ervin Menyhart's background and experience. For reference you are welcome to contact his teacher and mentor James Critchlow. Contact details can be found on the website at www.yogabirmingham.co.uk

Ervin was born and brought up in Hungary, but also lived studied and worked in Poland, Austria and Australia, settled in the UK in 1987. He first started to practice yoga regularly in 1984 in Australia. The style was Hatha Yoga, as taught by B.K.S. Iyengar (Iyengar Yoga) and Swami Vishnudevananda (Sivananda Yoga). The study and practice of yoga continued on and off throughout the years.
Exploration of the more dynamic styles began in 1998, learning the Ashtanga style started in 1999 under the guidance of James Critchlow in Birmingham. James also taught Ervin to teach and encouraged him to set up his own classes. James's love of yoga, his commitment, dedication and his person-to-person teaching style continue to be an inspiration.
Over the years Ervin has undergone a lot of training to further his own practice and to improve his ability to pass on what he has learnt. He completed a teacher training course with David Swenson, one of the most prominent Ashtanga teachers worldwide. Ervin has also benefited from teaching by John Scott, the top UK teacher, and attended workshops with other highly respected teachers. Among them he has found Richard Freeman's teaching particularly useful and inspirational.
In 2002 Ervin traveled to India to research and practice Ashtanga Yoga. During his stay in Mysore he practiced under the direct guidance of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, who was then the guru of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. While there, Ervin also had the opportunity to learn from Sri Sheshadri. Ervin has been teaching yoga full time since December 2000.
